Google LSA Cost Per Lead by Industry: 2025 vs. 2026
Google Local Services Ads lead costs have changed for many service industries over the past year. Based on Local Services Ads campaigns managed by 99 Calls, some industries are paying considerably more per lead in 2026, while others have stayed relatively close to their 2025 averages.
For service contractors, these industry differences matter when setting an LSA budget. A reasonable lead cost for a roofer may look very different from the cost for a painter, cleaning company, or appliance repair business.
Using 99 Calls campaign data, we compared average Google LSA lead costs by industry between 2025 and 2026.
LSA Cost Per Lead by Industry: 2025 vs. 2026
Here are several of the service industries represented in the 99 Calls dataset:
| Industry | 2025 Avg. CPL | 2026 Avg. CPL | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Appliance Repair | $20.33 | $34.35 | +69.0% |
| Junk Removal | $19.85 | $33.14 | +67.0% |
| Electrical | $28.58 | $43.15 | +51.0% |
| Roofing | $73.62 | $106.87 | +45.2% |
| Handyman | $25.06 | $38.51 | +53.7% |
| Cleaning Services | $22.94 | $33.21 | +44.8% |
| Carpet Cleaning | $26.94 | $35.49 | +31.7% |
| Window Repair | $46.83 | $59.99 | +28.1% |
| Water Damage | $171.64 | $215.31 | +25.4% |
| Landscaping | $22.67 | $37.29 | +64.5% |
| Tree Services | $33.93 | $37.77 | +11.3% |
| Painting | $32.94 | $33.06 | +0.4% |
| Plumbing | $70.06 | $66.17 | -5.6% |
Source: 99 Calls production Google Local Services Ads campaign data. Industry comparisons use Google's LSA category associated with each lead. For accounts serving multiple categories, spend is allocated according to each category's share of leads. Categories included in the table generated at least 30 leads during both comparison periods.
The differences between industries are significant. In the campaigns we reviewed, 2026 average lead costs ranged from around $33 for cleaning and painting leads to more than $200 for water damage leads.
Roofing LSA Cost Per Lead
Roofing continues to be one of the more expensive industries for Google Local Services Ads.
The average roofing lead in our dataset increased from $73.62 in 2025 to $106.87 in 2026, an increase of about 45%.
Roofing jobs can also carry much higher values than many other home services. Because of that, roofing companies should evaluate LSA performance beyond the initial lead price.
Tracking how many leads turn into inspections, estimates, and completed jobs provides more useful information when determining whether a $100+ roofing lead is profitable.
Plumbing LSA Cost Per Lead
Plumbing moved differently from many of the industries we reviewed.
Average plumbing lead costs decreased from $70.06 in 2025 to $66.17 in 2026, a drop of about 6%.
Individual plumbing companies can still see much higher or lower costs depending on their location, competition, services, and available customer demand.
A plumber operating in a highly competitive metro area, for example, may have a very different experience from a company serving smaller surrounding communities.
Electrical LSA Cost Per Lead
Electricians in our dataset saw a larger year-over-year increase.
Average electrical lead costs increased from $28.58 in 2025 to $43.15 in 2026.
That is an increase of about 51%.
For electrical contractors using LSA, monitoring the types of jobs coming through the campaign can be especially useful. A lead for a larger electrical project may support a higher acquisition cost than a smaller service call.
Painting LSA Cost Per Lead
Painting was one of the most stable categories in our comparison.
Average LSA lead costs were $32.94 in 2025 and $33.06 in 2026.
That is a difference of less than 1%.
The painting data is a good example of why contractors should look at benchmarks for their specific industry instead of assuming that every LSA category is moving at the same rate.
Cleaning Services LSA Cost Per Lead
Cleaning service leads increased from an average of $22.94 in 2025 to $33.21 in 2026.
That represents an increase of about 45%.
Cleaning companies often have a wide range of customer values depending on the work they pursue. A recurring commercial cleaning account, for example, can have a very different long-term value from a one-time cleaning job.
Lead cost should therefore be considered alongside the type and value of work generated.
Junk Removal LSA Cost Per Lead
Junk removal was another category with a noticeable increase.
The average moved from $19.85 per lead in 2025 to $33.14 in 2026, an increase of about 67%.
Even after that increase, junk removal leads remained less expensive in our dataset than leads for several higher-cost categories, including plumbing, roofing, and water damage.
Appliance Repair LSA Cost Per Lead
Appliance repair showed one of the largest percentage increases among the industries we compared.
Average lead cost increased from $20.33 in 2025 to $34.35 in 2026.
That is an increase of approximately 69%.
When average job values are smaller, changes of $10 or $15 per lead can have a meaningful effect on customer acquisition costs. Appliance repair businesses should pay close attention to both booking rates and completed service calls when reviewing campaign performance.
Water Damage LSA Cost Per Lead
Water damage remained the highest-cost category included in this comparison.
Average lead costs increased from $171.64 in 2025 to $215.31 in 2026.
Water damage and restoration leads can represent urgent, high-value projects. That makes the final value of the customer especially important when reviewing an LSA campaign.
For example, paying more than $200 for a lead can still make financial sense when enough of those leads turn into profitable restoration projects.
Landscaping LSA Cost Per Lead
Landscaping also experienced a sizable change.
The average lead cost increased from $22.67 in 2025 to $37.29 in 2026, an increase of about 65%.
Landscaping can cover many types of work, so individual results may depend heavily on the services a company offers and the searches available within its service area.
Tree Service LSA Cost Per Lead
Tree service costs increased more modestly than several other categories.
The average moved from $33.93 in 2025 to $37.77 in 2026, an increase of about 11%.
For tree companies, larger removal and emergency jobs may support a higher acquisition cost than smaller trimming or maintenance projects. Tracking the actual jobs produced by LSA can help determine whether the campaign is generating the right type of work.
Why LSA Lead Costs Vary So Much by Industry
Google Local Services Ads do not have one standard lead price for every contractor.
Costs vary based on the service category, geographic market, customer demand, competition, and the type of lead generated. This is why comparing your campaign with a national LSA average only provides part of the picture.
Industry benchmarks offer more useful context.
A painter averaging $40 per lead and a roofer averaging $100 per lead could both have healthy campaigns depending on their local markets, close rates, job values, and profit margins.
You can see additional 2026 industry data in our Google LSA Lead Cost by Industry report.
Cost Per Lead Is Only One Part of LSA Performance
Cost per lead is one of the easiest LSA metrics to monitor, but contractors should also follow what happens after each lead arrives.
Consider a business generating 20 leads at an average cost of $50.
That represents $1,000 in advertising spend. If five of those leads become customers, the advertising cost is $200 per acquired customer.
The next step is comparing that $200 acquisition cost with the revenue and profit generated from those customers.
For a business with high-value jobs, a higher CPL may still produce a strong return. Businesses with smaller average tickets generally have less room for expensive leads.
Tracking lead cost, booking rate, close rate, and customer acquisition cost can provide a clearer picture of campaign performance.
Use Industry Data as a Benchmark for Your LSA Campaign
The 2025 and 2026 data shows how widely Local Services Ads costs can vary between industries.
Some of the largest increases in our comparison appeared in appliance repair, junk removal, landscaping, electrical, and roofing. Painting remained almost unchanged, while plumbing averaged slightly less per lead in the 2026 dataset.
These figures can give contractors a useful benchmark, but your own campaign data should guide your marketing decisions.
Location, competition, services, budget, customer demand, and lead quality can all affect what your business pays and what those leads are ultimately worth.

Data Methodology: Industry figures are based on Google Local Services Ads campaign data managed by 99 Calls and compare April through June 2025 with the same period in 2026. Google's LSA category attached to each lead was used to classify industries. For accounts serving more than one category, account-level spend was allocated according to each category's share of leads. Industry comparisons shown in this article were limited to categories with at least 30 leads in both periods. These figures are benchmarks from the 99 Calls dataset and do not represent guaranteed lead prices for individual advertisers.
