Meet Keely Cameron: Solving Problems, Driving Leads, and Helping Businesses Grow
Behind every successful marketing campaign is someone making sure all the moving pieces work together. At 99 Calls, that person is often Keely Cameron, our Customer Success & Operations Analyst. From Google Ads and Local Services Ads to website customization, blogging, SEO support, and customer success, Keely wears a lot of hats. She’s the type of person who enjoys solving technical challenges, helping businesses grow, and making sure every client receives the support they need. We sat down with Keely for a quick Q&A to learn more about her role, what she’s passionate about, and her advice for small business owners.
Q: What is your role at 99 Calls?
KEELY: I’m a Customer Success & Operations Analyst. My role includes content creation, website customization, Google Ads management, Local Services Ads, blogging, customer support, and helping businesses get the most out of their digital marketing.
Q: How did you get started in digital marketing?
KEELY: I actually didn’t have a traditional digital marketing background. I came to 99 Calls with technical support and administrative experience from my time in the Army. I originally joined in more of a customer support role, but over time my responsibilities grew into Google Ads, Local Services Ads, blogging, YouTube content, and website customization.
Q: What do you enjoy most about the technical side of your job?
KEELY: I enjoy solving problems. There’s almost always a solution, you just have to figure it out. Every challenge is different, and I like working through it until everything is running the way it should.
Q: What’s one of the biggest SEO mistakes you see businesses make?
KEELY: Trying to replace professional SEO with AI-generated content or assuming SEO is as simple as copying and pasting text. There is a lot happening behind the scenes that helps websites rank and generate leads.
Q: How important is a Google Business Profile?
KEELY: It’s one of the most important tools a local business can have. It increases your visibility, helps customers find you, supports your organic rankings, and works hand-in-hand with your website.
Q: How do SEO and Google Ads work together?
KEELY: SEO builds long-term visibility by creating pages that Google wants to rank. Google Ads places those same services in front of customers immediately. When both strategies work together, they strengthen each other and help generate more leads.
Q: What separates a high-performing Google Ads account from one that struggles?
KEELY: The biggest difference is communication and trust. Clients who stay involved, answer our questions, pay attention to recommendations, and allow us to make strategic adjustments generally see much better results than those who resist every change.
Q: What’s something business owners don’t always understand about Google Ads?
KEELY: Google Ads is extremely customizable. There are many ways to improve performance, from AI-generated image assets to targeting adjustments and campaign optimizations. It also takes time for Google’s system to learn and optimize, so patience is important.
Q: What’s a common issue that hurts lead generation?
KEELY: Not answering the phone. You can have the best website and advertising campaign in the world, but if no one answers incoming calls, valuable opportunities are lost.
Q: What happens behind the scenes that clients don’t usually see?
KEELY: A lot more than most people realize. We’re constantly reviewing Google Ads accounts, monitoring keywords, managing Local Services Ads, requesting credits for invalid leads, updating websites, optimizing content, improving tracking, managing domains, customizing pages, and making sure everything continues moving in the right direction.
Q: How does the technical setup impact results?
KEELY: Everything matters. Website speed, call-to-action buttons, tracking numbers, call routing, and site structure all affect whether visitors become leads. Even features like missed-call text back can make a significant difference.
Q: What advice would you give small business owners?
KEELY: Keep an open mind. Digital marketing works best when business owners stay involved, communicate with their marketing team, answer their phones, and trust the process. Being open to recommendations often leads to better results.
Q: What’s been one of your favorite client success stories?
KEELY: One client fully embraced our recommendations by providing content quickly, answering questions, and staying engaged. We expected organic SEO to take around three months, but by the second month they had already generated more than 20 organic leads. It was exciting to see the results outperform expectations.
Q: What do you enjoy most about working at 99 Calls?
KEELY: The independence. I’m trusted to manage my work and help clients without someone constantly looking over my shoulder. I also enjoy working with a close-knit team where everyone genuinely supports each other.
Q: What’s one thing you want every 99 Calls client to know?
KEELY: We’re a family-owned business, not a giant corporation. We genuinely know our clients, care about their success, and work hard every day to help them grow.
