New Notification Email: Your LSA Stops Running If Your GBP Is Suspended

If your Local Services Ad (LSA) suddenly stops running, it can severely impact your lead flow. Oftentimes, advertisers don’t realize their LSA stopped running until it is too late, especially if they’re only managing the LSA and not the corresponding Google Business Profile (GBP).

But starting this week, Google is sending emails to LSA account admins whenever their ad is deactivated due to issues with their linked GBP.

Here’s what the new email looks like:

Why This Email Matters

This new alert is significant because many advertisers manage only the LSA, not the GBP. Until now, if the client’s GBP was suspended, there was no direct notification to the person managing their LSA. That often meant days of lost leads while the issue went undetected.

Now, when a GBP is:

  • Suspended
  • Disabled
  • Unlinked

The LSA account admin will receive an automated email alert from Google.

Why LSAs Stop When a GBP Is Suspended

Your LSA relies on your GBP to verify key trust elements like:

  • Business name
  • Business address
  • Customer reviews

If your GBP becomes inactive, Google disconnects the LSA from it since those trust signals vanish, and the LSA no longer appears in search results.

What To Do If You Get This Email

  1. Check the GBP Status: Visit your Business Profile Manager and look for suspension notices.
  2. Fix Inconsistencies: Make sure the business name and address match exactly between LSA and GBP.
  3. Appeal Suspensions Promptly: Use Google’s Manage Appeals Tool to appeal for reinstatement of your profile to start the resolution.
  4. Reconnect Your GBP to LSA: Once resolved, ensure the GBP is properly re-linked in your LSA dashboard.
  5. Contact Support If Needed: If you need help, contact Google LSA support directly.

Why You Should Act Quickly

This email is a helpful step forward, but if you’re not monitoring your inbox closely, your ads could still sit idle, costing you valuable leads. Consider setting up filters or forwarding rules so these alerts don’t get missed.
